This video course is designed to prepare the student for the CCNA's Routing and Switching exam. The topics that will be covered are as follows: operating IP data networks, LAN switching and WAN technologies, IPv4 and IPv6, system and network management, IP routing technologies, IP services and security, and troubleshooting routers and switches. The student will be learning the fundamentals of a network and the operation of IP data networks. They will learn the particular variables of Ethernet, switching, broadcast and collision domains, and basic switching concepts. From there they will move on to learning about the types of classes in both IP version 4 and IP version 6, the role of IP addresses in network routing and subnetting, and Variable Length Subnet Masks (VLSM). Next they will learn how the router boot process works and how an IOS device boots up.
Learn the fundamentals of how routing decisions are made within devices; look at Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF), packet forwarding, and the Layer 3 route table lookup process. Concentrate on IP services and router and switch security; learn how to configure a router for DHCP. Last, but not least, learn the skills to troubleshoot any router or switch issue.
Included in the course are demos and other material that will help demonstrate and reinforce the use of the tools and techniques that you will be learning.
