ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Analyst - Online course
This online course (120 days access) prepares students for the ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst exam (Certified Tester Advanced Level CTAL). It extends the knowledge gained in the ISTQB/ISEB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) and is one of three certificated courses to support Advanced Level in the ISTQB scheme.
The Advanced Test Analyst course is fully compliant with the syllabus and its prescribed learning objectives, containing 10 key modules:
- Introduction to the Syllabus;
- Basic Aspects of Software Testing;
- Testing Processes;
- Test Management;
- Test Techniques;
- Test of Software Characteristics;
- Reviews;
- Incident Management;
- Test Tools & Automation;
- People Skills & Team Composition.
Modular Course Structure
The Advanced Course is structured into 3 parts:
1. Tutor Videos – Knowledge Acquisition
A professionally recorded video presentation by an experienced accredited trainer. This covers all aspects of the syllabus for the basic knowledge level required and introduces higher level learning objectives, featuring:
- ‘Bite-sized’ manageable learning, focused on Learning Objectives
- Interspersed throughout with ‘In-Video’ simple questions and exercises to maintain interest and confirm understanding
- High quality graphics, slide presentations, notes and professional studio recording
- Supported by course workbook with exercises and model answers
- Exam hints & tips
2. Practical – Knowledge Confirmation
Two Live Virtual Class Sessions (with recorded self-study alternative)
Building on the learning in the videos, students can either book on these live sessions when they are ready, or study recorded sessions. Students are provided with pre-requisite exercises for the sessions, which are conducted with two accredited ISTQB tutors.
Complex scenarios, exam-style questions and detailed explanations are provided by the tutors with the opportunity for students to participate real-time, or off-line via the Learntesting helpdesk.
3. Exam Boot Camp – Exam Preparation
A Live Virtual Class (with recorded self-study alternative)
This session is designed to help students prepare for the exam. It is based on typical exam style questions and gives students the opportunity to:
- try out sample questions in the same time-frame as the real exam
- follow a walkthrough of model answers
- learn about exam technique
- interact with accredited tutors
Students can register for the Live Virtual Classroom sessions at a time to suit their needs.
The qualification is assessed by means of a three-hour, multiple-choice examination. Candidates are required to hold the ISTQB/ISEB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certificate as a minimum before sitting the exam.
