The UExcel examination in Introduction to Psychology measures knowledge
and understanding of the material typically taught in a one-semester,
three-credit, lower-level survey course in a baccalaureate program. The
examination measures knowledge and understanding of the theories and
principles of general psychology and the ability to apply this
information to everyday life examples. The content of the examination
consists of 11 major categories: The Science of Psychology, Biological
Influences on Behavior, Sensation and Perception, Consciousness,
Learning and Memory, Motivation and Emotion, Cognition and Intelligence,
Human Development, Personality, Psychological Disorders and Therapy,
and Social Psychology. No prior knowledge or understanding of psychology
is assumed.
There are two forms of this practice test available. If you purchase
this test a second time, you will receive an alternative form. If you
purchase it a third time, you will receive one of the previous forms.
An
authorization code, its expiration date and instructions for redeeming
the code will be supplied to you by email after purchase. Once you use
the authorization code to redeem the practice test, you will have 90
days to take the test. At the time of authorization, you will be able to
choose to take the practice test in either one or two hours. If you do
not finish your practice test in the allotted time chosen, your answers
will not be scored and you will forfeit the opportunity to retake this
practice test.
